Blizzard!!

So last week and through the weekend I've been a little nervous about a training session the company scheduled me to attend in Chicago.  I wasn't nervous about the training, it was the weather I was concerned with.  I told my husband that I wouldn't be happy if it was raining when I left but that I'd go because I had to.

Now, just so's you know, I never worry about flying...much.  Most travel is for vacations sake anyway.  I've never been air sick or had thoughts of anything bad happening but too many movies will make you think all kinds of crazy things when it comes to heavy weather conditions, especially BLIZZARDS, hello!

So I look up the weather conditions for Chicago and it says "feels like 28 degrees", ok, I know I'm gonna hear from some of you about this but when I pull up the weather conditions for L.A. and it says 54, I'm wondering how many jackets I can put on without looking like I gained 40 pounds overnight.  You think 28 degrees is gonna sit well with me?

BUT, as a new employee and considering I'm only into my 3rd week of work, I figure I'll just have to get over the frost bite once I return to sunny L.A.  I'll make do because I have bills that are due and losing my job this early in the game would be plenty painful..

I go on line to confirm my reservation and check-in on line when Viola!  The flight is cancelled.  What a cryin' shame!  I'd liked to have poked my eyes out with sadness.....or not.  I call my friend at work who scheduled the flight to tell her my findings thinking maybe I'm mistaken, but as luck would have it, it was cancelled indeed.

So looks like I'll be at work tomorrow.  Maybe with some luck they'll reschedule for a San Francisco turn around or even Chicago on a clear day.

dearest cousin! I NEVER KNEW YOU STUDIED WITH JOSÉ GRECO'S MISTRESS!!! He was one of my favorites and I am sure she was equally as passionate and marvelous! I am glad that you joined in on the dance of celebration. Wow, you just missed coming out this way...we got tons of snow last night and Chicago is only East of us by a couple of hours. 28 degrees? We are happy at that temp.....try 30 below, and we had a couple of day so of that in early January!!!!! I do hope that you get a rescheduled flight for somewhere less grueling!!!

I am so happy for you that you got a job! Peace and love to you, Anita

Chère cousine!

Thank you for coming by even though I am sure that you are now so busy with your new job! I am so happy for you.I just felt like I wanted to BE CINDERELLA for just a while, and have others join in! I don't know what I would do without a vivid imagination! Ruben and I just joined a writers' organization here in Minneapolis, just 10 minutes away over the river....we are very excited to be members. It's called "The Loft" and the Minneapolis Book Arts Assoc. It is the largest literary group of its kind in the country. We hope to take some classes on Children's lit. and Ruben will veer more towards novel writing.

Here it is 4:00am in the morning and I am in a rush to get to work today; I have a lot of standardized testing that I need to get the kids ready for in math, so off I run. SO happy to see you....Grosses Bises, Anita

Dear Marie
I'm so pitifully behind in my visits and even my own posts (I missed about 2-3 weeks) until now. So it feels to try and catch up.

Two things.
1. Talk to someone who knows how exactly you should pack and what kind of gear to take in freezing temperatures as you will quite simply die if it's 20 degrees but a wind chill brings it down to 0.

2. You don't "just over frostbite" LOL. (So remember #1).

I'm so glad you've found a good job.

Love
Ruben
